Pupils start to learn in fantastic new building
Pupils at Shavington Primary School, near Crewe, have been learning in a fantastic new building – which was project managed by SPC Partnership.
Chris O’Donovan, Director, said: “The school is brilliant, but the buildings were not as aspirational as the teaching.
“The community desperately needed additional provision for children with Special Education Needs, and sporting provision at the school was not where leaders wanted, or needed, it to be.”
After opening in Christmas 2018, pupils are now learning in eight new classrooms, playing sport in a huge sports hall with changing room facilities, developing skills in a large cookery room and enjoying before and after school clubs that there were no spaces for before.
In addition, Shavington now has a purpose built space to run a resource provision for children with special educational needs whose needs may not be fully met in a mainstream primary school.
“We are getting an increasing amount of enquiries from the public sector, particularly schools.
“There can be a fine line between meeting the needs of the contractors and the needs of the school, and we have helped to manage this sometimes difficult process.” Chris O’Donovan, Director
